Will Bengals Make Midseason Trade With Deadline Approaching?
USA TODAY Sports

On this date 12 years ago, the Bengals traded Carson Palmer to the Raiders in exchange for first and second round draft picks.

Those draft selections turned into Dre Kirkpatrick and Giovani Bernard. Both players helped Cincinnati make the playoffs multiple times during their time with the team.

Fast forward to present day and the NFL trade deadline is just 13 days away. Could the Bengals trade for a piece that could help them this season?

Tight end, running back and defensive tackle are three spots they could address if they did make a move.

Cincinnati hasn't made many midseason trades. They sent Carlos Dunlap to the Seahawks in exchange for a seventh round pick and backup offensive lineman B.J. Finney during the 2020 campaign.

That was their last in season move. Prior to that, they hadn't acquired a player via trade during the season since 1972.

The Bengals have all seven of their picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. They're also projected to receive two compensatory selections—a fifth and a seventh rounder.

With nine projected picks, they may consider parting with one if the right veteran player is available ahead of the trade deadline.
