New York Giants tight end Darren Waller is diving head-first toward a career away from the gridiron.

On Friday, Waller released a promo video before the release of his fifth hip-hop album.

While Waller's talent outside of football might surprise some, he has pursued the passion for quite some time and credits it for helping him recover from substance abuse issues that led to his suspension in 2017.

"Music was a way for me to almost speak things into existence before they even happened and to build confidence," Waller told Emmanuel Morgan of the New York Times in May 2023.

In March 2023, Waller participated in an NFL-sponsored program by Interscope Records to learn more about the music business.

The 31-year-old one-time Pro Bowler recently wrapped up his first season with the Giants following an offseason trade from the Las Vegas Raiders. Limited by a hamstring injury, Waller played in only 12 games, recording 52 receptions for 552 yards and a touchdown.
