Steelers’ Cole Holcomb doesn’t have definitive timetable for return but recent checkup was ‘favorable

"He [LB Cole Holcomb] just had a checkup a few weeks back and it was a favorable one, but I don't have any details from a calendar perspective of levels of availability," Mike Tomlin told the media at the league owners' meetings in Orlando this week. 

Holcomnb was nothing short of a revelation in the LB corps, leading the team in tackles, calling the signals and playing well in coverage before suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 9 of last season. 

Details on his recovery had been scarce, and the lack of updates from Omar Khan at the NFL Combine lead to a pessimistic understanding of his potential return when the season starts in 2024. 

Couple that with a splash signing like Patrick Queen, and it seemed as if things were looking in every direction but up for Holcomb. 

But coupled with the coincidentally timed workout video ^ and Mike Tomlin's comments about his recent checkup, Pittsburgh's best defensive product is that much closer to being produced in 2024.
