Skip Bayless makes brutal prediction for Dallas Cowboys' 2024 season
Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys have had a rough offseason, as they have only signed one free agent and have not been able to extend any of their key players.

This has Fox Sports analyst and known Cowboys fan Skip Bayless worried about 2024.

When making his predictions for the NFC East next season, Bayless picked the Philadelphia Eagles to take the crown. What’s more, he added that he thinks Dallas will miss the playoffs entirely.

Bayless may be speaking out of emotion here.

The fact of the matter is that this still, by and large, the same Cowboys roster that won 12 games and made the playoffs each of the last three seasons.

Now, you can make the argument that things may be going stale in Dallas and that the club is due for a regression, especially if there have been internal issues.

The Cowboys have reached a stalemate in contract negotiations with quarterback Dak Prescott. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb may be preparing to hold out of training camp if he doesn’t get a new deal. There are also rumors that Dallas is growing tired of edge rusher Micah Parsons, who became eligible for a contract extension this offseason.

Perhaps all of the drama will end up poisoning the Cowboys’ locker room, which, in turn, would obviously have an adverse effect on their performance in 2024.

But all of that being said, Dallas remains one of the most talented teams in the NFC, and based on how poorly the Eagles finished out 2023, the Cowboys have to be considered the favorites to win the division at the moment.

There are obviously issues in Dallas, but the Cowboys still have the rest of the offseason to fix them. They have the NFL Draft later this week, and they can always strike deals with some of their key players over the next several months.

We’ll see what ends up happening in Dallas as the offseason continues to progress. But obviously, Bayless is not happy. Most Cowboys fans probably share similar sentiments.
