Ravens agree to one-year deal with CB Jimmy Smith

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith isn't going anywhere.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport (h/t Kevin Patra) and other outlets reported on Thursday that Smith and the Ravens have agreed to a one-year contract worth $5 million. The 32-year-old was set to hit free agency following the 2020 season that could end for the Ravens on Sunday, depending on other results, if Baltimore falls to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Smith has been with the Ravens since they used the 27th pick of the 2011 NFL Draft to secure his services, and he played a massive role in Baltimore's Super Bowl XLVII victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Smith has recently missed games against the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Giants while dealing with a shoulder injury that did not force him onto the injured reserve list ahead of Sunday's regular-season finale. It was unknown as of early Thursday afternoon if he'll be available to face a Bengals team that notched victories over the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans over their past two contests.

As Neil Dutton explained for Ravens Wire/USA Today, Baltimore can clinch a berth in the AFC postseason bracket with a win over Cincinnati or via six other scenarios.
