Ben Roethlisberger didn’t mince words when speaking about the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ loss to the Cleveland Browns.

The former Super Bowl winning quarterback amassed an incredible record against Cleveland during his career, going 26-2-1 when facing the Browns when he was with the Steelers. However, it hasn’t been smooth sailing for the franchise since his retirement, and Week 11 proved that once again.

Pittsburgh was unable to muster any offense against the Browns, and Cleveland came out on top in a pivotal AFC North battle. Even with their backup quarterback playing in the showdown.

Now, Roethlisberger is hitting Cleveland with the subtle digs. Check out what he said following the Browns’ win over the Steelers.

“I mean, this is the Browns’ Super Bowl,” Roethlisberger claimed, via his Footbahlin Podcast. “This is the Super Bowl for them.”

Big Ben has a point. It’s certainly a meaningful victory for Cleveland, whenever they defeat the Steelers. Regardless, there’s definitely a little salt in Roethlisberger’s words. He’s not happy the franchise he spent his whole career dominating is getting some wins over Pittsburgh.

Alas, history doesn’t always dictate the future. It didn’t on Sunday in Cleveland. It wasn’t a pretty victory, but it was a victory nonetheless for the Browns.

Both teams couldn’t get much going on offense throughout the afternoon. The Steelers accumulated 249 total yards and 12 first downs, while Cleveland was slightly better, amassing 259 total yards and 20 first downs. The Steelers also won the turnover battle 1 to 0.

Former first round quarterback Kenny Pickett didn’t have his best game of the season. The Steelers signal caller completed 15 of 28 passes for 106 yards, throwing neither a touchdown or interception in the contest.

The lone source of offense for the Steelers was running back Jaylen Warren. While he had just nine carries, Warren ripped off a 74 yard touchdown for Pittsburgh’s lone touchdown of the afternoon, and it total Warren amassed 129 rushing yards.

Cleveland advanced to 7-3, while the Steelers fell to 6-4. Still, they’re in the playoff race, and will have an opportunity to get a win next weekend against the Cincinnati Bengals, who just lost star quarterback Joe Burrow for the season.

Perhaps the Steelers are missing Ben Roethlisberger, especially after a subpar game from Kenny Pickett on Sunday. Nevertheless, he can’t do anything but watch at the moment, hoping for better from Pittsburgh moving forward.
