Deacon Hill drew his first start for the Iowa Hawkeyes. The former Wisconsin Badgers QB was tabbed as the starter after Cade McNamara went down with an injury. Hill, a sophomore, was underwhelming under center, even though his team took down Purdue 20-14.

The Former Wisconsin Badgers QB Performance

Deacon Hill took the field hoping to continue the fortunes of the Iowa Hawkeyes and improve to 5-1. He was able to do that, but it wasn’t without looking absolutely mediocre. He went 6-21 with 110 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. It was an underwhelming first half, followed up by a better second half.

If it weren’t for the defense, it may look a little different. For now, they’re 5-1, including 2-1 in conference play. Deacon Hill comes to Madison with the Iowa Hawkeyes next week to take on Tanner Mordecai and the Wisconsin Badgers. This could be a pivotal point for the Big Ten West. Let’s see how fans took Deacon Hill’s game.
