Purdue's Secret Weapon: Carson Wiggs
I don't like kickers or the kicking game. Never punt. That is a motto I live by. Unless you're Les Miles, then you are free to punt or kick field goals as you please because there's also a bag of tricks that somehow just works.
If you are Purdue, you don't have tricks nor an explosive offense. Sometimes you have to just take the three points. It's not the way I'd do it, but hats off to their guy, Carson Wiggs (seen kicking the 67 yard FG above). He's made some long range ones before, like this 59 yarder against Toledo in 2009 (which is the school record). Drew Brees isn't walking through that door so the Boilermakers might need Wiggs to steal a close game to get to bowl eligibility, which will be an uphill battle in any event.
