The Oregon Ducks, reigning PAC-10 Champs, had their Spring Game on April 30. A record crowd for the PAC-10 of 43,000+ showed up to take a look at Oregon's squad. Oregon only turned out a little over 25,000 fans to their spring game last season.
The excitement of the game itself did not match up with the interest level. The final score was 16-0, not for one quarter, for the entire game. The Ducks averaged only 2.5 yards per play despite a 67 yard touchdown run from LaMichael James. The starters were yanked early and there was a running clock in the second half. Starting quarterback Darron Thomas was 15/21 for 121 yards and an INT.
Oregon begins the season at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium against the LSU Tigers on September 3.
